My favorite image from the Daily Announcements from Week 1 (so far) is the Growth Mindset Cat memes. The power of "I don't know yet" goes a long way, as we learned from Week 1in Carol Dweck's teachings.

I am very excited for the rest of the semester in this class. I have learned a lot so far not only about Indian Epics, but more about myself, what I hope to achieve this semester, and how to manage a blog! This will definitely be a great experience.

I hope to take the "growth mindset" perspective and go into this semester with great confidence and desire to take on challenges. I also hope to become even better through time management, and effectively use the Chrome app I downloaded called "Wanderlust" to my advantage. This will be the best semester "yet"!

The first week of the semester is Winter Welcome Week and is put on by Campus Activities Council. Winter Welcome Week, like Howdy Week, serves to welcome new and returning students, but for the Spring Semester. I have attached a picture of the flyer, and hope to see students come out and enjoy all of the free events and free food! "CAC' you there :-)

  1. That is such a great poster, Sonali! I have shared it several times via the class Twitter, and I will be sure to include it in the first official announcements for Tuesday. Having great graphics really helps make the announcements more eye-catching and therefore useful.

  2. I love this cat meme that you chose! I don’t remember seeing that announcement but it’s a great reminder not to let yourself settle with not knowing. There is always an opportunity to learn something new and usually that begins by asking questions just like this cat! Finding the answers to my own questions is something I’ve been working on.

An Introduction to Me, Myself, and I

Welcome to my blog! ~~~ (Image information: Personal photo of myself from Camp Crimson - July 2016) ~~~       Hi! My name is Sonali Demla, a junior Chemical Biosciences Pre-Dental major at the University of Oklahoma. I grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma with my little sister, little brother, and my dog Danny! My sister and I currently live together as she also attends the University of Oklahoma, and my little brother is in middle school. We're all really close, but my sister and I are closer than you might think. What do I mean by this? Well, when people ask me an interesting fact about myself, I tell them that my sister and I have the same birthday, except we're one year apart . Yes, an exact 365 days!  Our birthday is actually coming up very soon - January 16th to be exact. It's a nice date because usually it falls on the MLK holiday, so it seems fitting that we get the day off for our birthday. Some people say, "Well, that must suck." I actu...

Week 3 Story: Finding My True Love

(Image Information: Rama and Sita with Gods Fred Miller. Source:  Flickr ) ~~~        It was a wonderful evening in Panchvati, and I was admiring the scenery right in front of me. Sita was out in the river, taking a bath. I was lucky to have her, and I knew she was lucky to have me.        Deep in my thoughts, I noticed something in the front yard. Beyond the trees, leaves, and greenery, there was movement. Someone was there.       It was a woman. I thought I would never see anyone more beautiful than Sita, but this woman in the front yard was gorgeous. When she walked around, her eyes glistened, her teeth sparkled, and she had the perfect womanly figure.       As she approached me, I began to feel nervous. I began to ...
