The reading that I have chose for Ramayana is Narayan's version. Throughout this story I've been captured with the amount of details, and have allowed my imagination to wander and envision this story coming to life.
One thing that I really loved was how much Lakshmana and Rama were always together. They both went on various adventures together, grew together, and were always supporting each other. They both respected each other very much, and loved on each other. They were brothers and the best of friends.
I was thinking about what kind of story I could write just from this reading, and it would be a conversation that Lakshmana and Rama could've had at night as they journeyed with Vishvamithra. Vishvamithra told of many stories, and the story that struck out to me was the story of Ahalya.
I can only image what Rama and Lakshaman's thoughts were after hearing this story, and especially since Rama freed Ahalya from her stone form. Knowing that later in this journey Rama would meet Sita, I would want to write a story about Lakshmana and Rama laying down after that adventure and talking about what they hope to see in their future wives and their respective desires regarding marriage. Soon thereafter, Rama would meet Sita and the rest would just be the same as stated in this book.
My story would be like a "bonus feature" that wasn't included in the overall story. It would give insight on Rama's thoughts that we really aren't given in this book, since the book is told from a third-person narrative view. I would give a first-person view with this story, expressing Rama's personal thoughts from his perspective.
The pages in this part flew by and I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book, and seeing what other adventures that Rama encounters.
