The pages of Part B in this reading definitely went by fast. I loved the excitement, tension, and series of events that unfolded throughout the story.
Ravana's sister seemed odd. I never really understood her true intentions, and whether she really loved Rama or not. She seemed to say one thing, and do another. She seems very evil, and I have always heard about the huge battle between Rama and Ravana. However, I am now wondering if Ravana's sister was the one who started it all, or since Rama was destined to get rid of the clan anyways, whether that was just a part of the story.
When I continued reading Rama's encounter with Ravana's sister, and how when she was rejected, she felt the same way as Sita, I kept thinking of her actions as some sort of "crazy ex-girlfriend". It seemed of like stalker behavior the way she kept trying to win Rama. It would be funny to retell this story in a more modern English and giving Rama's thoughts as he kept discovering the crazy acts of Ravana's sister due to her obsession.
One part that was really interesting was when Ravana was obsessed with the image of Sita that his sister had provided, that he kept changing the seasons to cool himself off. I would like to retell the story from Rama, Sita, or Lakshmana's perspective as they experienced this odd change in seasons. In the book, we are told that humans were confused by what was going on, and I would like to retell my own story of what the humans were actually experiencing.
I am excited to retell my own story having read both parts A and B, and am looking forward to reading the rest of this book!
