Reading different Storybooks was definitely interesting! I decided to read through the Indian Epics Storybooks. From the multiple books to choose from, there were three that were my favorite.

1. Kurma and Karma

By reading the title, I knew what this storybook was about. It was such an interesting take on this topic, and I could not stop reading the introduction. I also couldn't stop laughing because of the theme that this student took on with this topic. I never would have thought of mixing the Finding Nemo turtles with Karma. I loved the website layout, and the imagery. It really tied together with the theme that the student was trying to present, and I hope to have this type of idea in my project. A unifying theme definitely made this project so entertaining!

Seeing the words "Lord Rama" and "Football Player" definitely caught my eye when looking through the list. From the moment I clicked on the link, I wanted to know everything about this student's project. I chuckled at the way the student was able to integrate Joe Castiglione and Lord Rama in the introduction. I couldn't stop reading this introduction! I liked the images that were used and how simple the project was. This made it super accessible, and I hope to keep my project simple yet fun.

I decided to just randomly click on some stories, and I am so glad I came across this one. From the moment I saw the image in this introduction, I knew I would enjoy reading about this storybook. It was a hilarious and positive twist on some of the greatest love stories in Indian Epics. I am familiar with these terms, and the title did a great job of hinting at what this project would be about. The storybook website looked very professional, and well put together. I hope to implement this type of professionalism in my project as well.

Comments

  1. Your comments about the stories you have enjoyed in this class was interesting to read. I think it is interesting to hear other people speak about their views and why they make the particular decisions they do because it shows their character. I like that you were honest and said you just started clicking on some stories and that's how you truly found a story you ended up liking. Some stories you see the title and it sounds interesting and some stories may be good even if the title is not.

An Introduction to Me, Myself, and I

Welcome to my blog! ~~~ (Image information: Personal photo of myself from Camp Crimson - July 2016) ~~~       Hi! My name is Sonali Demla, a junior Chemical Biosciences Pre-Dental major at the University of Oklahoma. I grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma with my little sister, little brother, and my dog Danny! My sister and I currently live together as she also attends the University of Oklahoma, and my little brother is in middle school. We're all really close, but my sister and I are closer than you might think. What do I mean by this? Well, when people ask me an interesting fact about myself, I tell them that my sister and I have the same birthday, except we're one year apart . Yes, an exact 365 days!  Our birthday is actually coming up very soon - January 16th to be exact. It's a nice date because usually it falls on the MLK holiday, so it seems fitting that we get the day off for our birthday. Some people say, "Well, that must suck." I actu...

Week 3 Story: Finding My True Love

(Image Information: Rama and Sita with Gods Fred Miller. Source:  Flickr ) ~~~        It was a wonderful evening in Panchvati, and I was admiring the scenery right in front of me. Sita was out in the river, taking a bath. I was lucky to have her, and I knew she was lucky to have me.        Deep in my thoughts, I noticed something in the front yard. Beyond the trees, leaves, and greenery, there was movement. Someone was there.       It was a woman. I thought I would never see anyone more beautiful than Sita, but this woman in the front yard was gorgeous. When she walked around, her eyes glistened, her teeth sparkled, and she had the perfect womanly figure.       As she approached me, I began to feel nervous. I began to ...
