It was interesting to see the different techniques that we could use in terms of giving feedback on projects.
The most useful technique was timing myself and reading the content within the time constraint. Preparing for the Dental Admissions Test, I have been used to speed reading and gathering important details as I read in a time limit. Something else that I do, that I did not think of trying with this technique, was to jot down the main point of each paragraph when I read. This may not be needed when I read others portfolios, but could be useful if I needed to remember something that I wanted to include in my comments.
Reading out loud was also a good technique, but one that I am not really used to. I think it didn't make that much of a difference when I read out loud or in my head, because I usually read with a focused mindset. However, if I do feel like I need to pay attention to the reading and just can't seem to be focused, reading out loud would be a good technique to use.
Finally, the technique that I don't think I would use is the copy-paste technique. I find this technique to be very complicated in terms of copying, pasting, and then reading. I didn't really like that technique too much, as the time spent to open up Word, copy, and paste I would've already read a paragraph at least in the interface that was given.
This was a great way to really test what works well for me, and I am excited to being to leave comments on others projects!

I think jotting down little details in paragraphs is such a good idea—I’ll have to try it. Time constraint is my worst enemy. I’m still learning to be better about that because I feel like I’m a perfectionist. I feel weird when I read out loud. I used to love doing that in elementary school, but I do think it’s a good tool to try again. I’m definitely going to try jotting down important details in paragraphs though.
